Field Paste

Field Paste is a thick, clay-based hoof paste designed for packing and coating the sole, frog, collateral grooves, and central sulcus.

Its firm, sticky consistency helps it stay in place longer, making it especially useful for horses kept in the paddock or in wet, muddy conditions.

This paste is commonly used by hoof-care practitioners when they want something that:

• stays put in the collateral grooves and central sulcus

• adheres well to the sole

• creates a physical barrier against mud, manure, and debris

• remains in contact with the hoof for longer than liquid products

Field Paste is applied by hand (use a glove) and is too thick to be painted on.
For stabled horses, many people prefer using Sole Paint for ease of application, or using a thin layer of Field Paste to minimise bedding sticking to the hoof.
